A+ Composites GmbH recently joined the AZL network. Their main offering consists of a diverse range of over 200 variations of thermoplastic UD tapes that include various dimensions, fiber volumes and blends of multiple fibers and plastics.
Some of you may already had the pleasure of meeting Jakob Goerzen at one of our events or listened to a presentation given in the workgroups or at the AZL Annual Partner Meeting, where they also displayed samples in the exhibition area.
To introduce his company’s business and motivation for collaboration to the AZL Partner Network he answered three questions:
What do you offer that would be of interest to AZL partner companies?
Jakob, A+ Composites: As a company, we take pride in our innovative approach and expertise in the development and manufacturing of high-quality composite materials. Our primary offering revolves around a diverse range of over 200 variations of thermoplastic UD tapes, encompassing different dimensions, fiber volumes, and blends of multiple fibers and plastics. These thermoplastic UD tapes are highly attractive to AZL partner companies due to their exceptional properties and versatility in various applications. With our extensive selection, we can cater to specific requirements and deliver tailored solutions that meet the precise needs of our AZL partners. Additionally, we specialize in providing customized solutions for specific applications and offer comprehensive support in project implementation. What are you looking for (partners, solutions, information, products)?
Jakob, A+ Composites: We are always open to new partnerships and collaborations with companies and organizations involved in lightweight and composite materials. We are seeking innovative solutions, new technologies, and collaboration opportunities to push the boundaries of what is possible in the field of Llightweight construction. Additionally, we are interested in staying informed about current trends and developments in the field of lightweight and composite materials. Moreover, we are constantly looking to expand our product portfolio and discover new products that can bring added value to our customers.
What trends are you observing for lightweight and composites?
Jakob, A+ Composites: We are observing several trends in the field of lightweight and composite materials. Firstly, there is a growing demand for lightweight materials in various industries such as aerospace, automotive, wind energy, and sports equipment. Weight reduction is a critical factor for efficiency
improvement and emission reduction in these areas. Secondly, we see an increased utilization of fiberreinforced composites, especially carbon fiber-reinforced polymers (CFRP) and glass fiber-reinforced polymers (GFRP), due to their excellent strength properties combined with low weight. Thirdly, sustainable and environmentally friendly lightweight materials are gaining importance as the industry increasingly focuses onresource-efficient solutions.
